The Promise

John and the Manager.

Why are you late for work today, John? Asked the manager.

I am late because I woke up late Sir.

Why did you wake up late?

I woke up late because I slept late.

Tell me, why did you sleep late?

I slept late because I had to travel a long distance to visit my family.

Why did you visit your family?

Sir, I visited my family because I haven’t seen them for a long time.

Why haven’t you seen them for a long time?

I haven’t seen them for a long time because I work daily, and Friday is my only off day. So, when I visit them on Friday, we often go out to restaurants and then later I have to take a bus back. Sometimes it is difficult finding a bus for my area.

John, why is Friday your only off-day?

Well, according to my contract, Friday and Saturday are my off days, but you requested that I come on Saturday.

Why did I ask you to come on Saturday?

Sir, you told me the company had to make some extra sales, so I needed to work on Saturday. Plus, you promised to increase my salary by 20% after one year of working with you. Also, you said you would provide an apartment for my family and me.

Hmm! So how long have you been working here?

I’ve been working for three years.

So, why did you continue to work here even though I haven’t increased your salary?

Sir! I am fascinated by this job and I love you. I believe at God’s time; you will do what you promised.

Hmm, Today is God’s time, John. You have been a real asset to this company. Therefore, I am increasing your salary by 50%.

Also, the Human Resource manager will provide a new apartment for you and your family.

Thank you, sir.

And one last thing.

What, Sir?

Saturday is off.

Yeah.

                                                        Patience in life.

Patience is a virtue in life. Many people have lost their chances of promotion just because they couldn’t exercise patience. Other people have lost business deals because they were impatient.

Every individual at some point in their life needs to exercise patience because it can make them reach out for the stars. Patience makes us better people.

1. Patience makes us healthier. When we are stress-free,

especially in a difficult situation, it strengthens us.

2. Patience helps build relationships. Sometimes instead of ending a

a toxic relationship, we give the person another chance.

This usually happens when we rethink of a person's

  positive qualities.

3. When we are patient, it enables us to show empathy towards one

another. We give others time to reflect on their attitude or

behaviour.

4. Whenever things are not going well, instead of getting frustrated,

we need to have patience because things will eventually unfold at

 the right time.

                                     Be Patient
