Forgiveness

We’ve all got to forgive one another because neither of us is perfect. Forgive others freely, as God has forgiven us. We don’t have to hold grudges against anyone. For- (give) gives us the healing that takes away the pain and frustration we felt.

Forgiveness is one of the hardest virtues to possess as humans. When someone has hurt us, we find it so hard to forgive that person because the pain in our hearts is unbearable. But we’ve got to forgive because that’s the only time our healing will start.

There is a relationship between letting go what someone has done and forgiving someone. We forgive when we let go the anger and resentment; we feel towards someone even if the person doesn’t accept their mistakes. Some people pretend to let go; this does more harm than good to them in their heart.

We can let go of the pain we feel towards someone without forgiving them, but true forgiveness starts when we let go. When God forgives us for our iniquities, the joy we feel in our heart is the same joy we will feel when we forgive others.

When we truly forgive someone, our actions and behaviour towards them should reflect forgiveness.

To forgive is not to forget what happened. However, if we wholeheartedly forgive someone from the harm they’ve caused us, we will someday forget what had happened because healing had taken place in our hearts.

Therefore, let’s forgive one another as God forgave us.
